Community Groups

There is simply no substitute for honest community and deep relationships. Unfortunately, those kinds of relationships seem to be harder and harder to develop as the pace of life gets faster. This is exactly why Community Groups are at the center of the life and ministry of Grace Presbyterian. Community groups provide an opportunity for families to fellowship, pray, study God’s word, and build relationships of support through all of the ups and downs of life.

If you are new to Grace, or have not yet joined a Community Group, please take a few minutes to look through the list of groups to see if there is one that would work for your family. Many of these groups meet on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month, however others meet on a different day of the week and one meets weekly.

Babcock-French Group

We are families with young children (newborn to middle school) striving to be faithful in the chaos of our daily lives. We share dessert as well as our joys and our struggles. We lift each other up in prayer, not only at the meeting, but throughout the month; offering encouragement, comfort, advice, and support. We are a reminder to each other that we are not alone in our battles. Others have been there or are there now, and we are able to help each other through those trying times. It is not our faithfulness to each other, to the group, or even to God; it is His faithfulness to us that sustains us and guides us through the chaos.

We meet on the first and third Fridays of the month.

Dell-Outlaw Group

We share a fellowship meal together, sometimes sing some guitar-led hymns, then discuss the day’s sermon followed by a prayer time for each other. We normally meet on the first and third Sundays of each month at 1:00 p.m.

McLaughlin-Frederick Group

Our group is made up mostly of families with young children, primarily newborn to middle school. Typically, we take turns bringing dessert and the host serves coffee or tea, but on special occasions we share a meal. We meet on Sundays at 6:00 p.m.

McMillen-Luttrell Group

Our group is made up primarily of seniors (mostly retirees) with varied church backgrounds. Many of our group’s members have grown children and grandchildren. A few members are still working. We meet two times per month (varies between first/third and second/fourth Sunday nights). We are flexible due to travel schedules, so often adjust schedule.

Rechtien-Rohl Group

Our small group has been around for a number of years and has seen many changes of members and meeting places, but we have always enjoyed being together and delving into God’s Word. We learn together and support each other through times of prayer and fellowship. Our small group has a wide range of membership from parents with elementary children through seniors. Older children watch the younger while we meet.

We are always welcoming anyone that would like to join us on the first or third Sunday of the month. We meet after Sunday school at the church and have a light lunch of pizza, salad and dessert.

Schmidt-McCune-King Group

We are a new, multi-generational group that will meet on the first and third Sunday of the month from 6-8 p.m. We enjoy a time of fellowship over snacks, discuss the morning sermon's Bible passage and spend time praying for one another.
